The OEB is initiating a consultation to discuss how to enable implementation of a new optional Ultra-Low Overnight (ULO) price plan for electricity consumers on the Regulated Price Plan (RPP).
This consultation is a follow-up to the OEB’s work on the Design of an Optional Enhanced Time-of-Use Rate (EB-2022-0074) in which the OEB consulted with stakeholders on a proposed design for an overnight price plan. On March 31, 2022, the OEB delivered a report to the Minister of Energy presenting a recommended design for the price plan. On August 10, 2022, the Ministry of Energy published a regulatory proposal to launch the new price plan on May 1, 2023.
This ULO consultation will include discussions of potential changes to the Standard Supply Service Code (SSSC) to implement the new price plan, to enable RPP consumers to switch from TOU pricing to Tiered pricing.
