Commissioners

The Chief Commissioner is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and timeliness of the OEB’s adjudication work.

Commissioners make independent decisions on applications and other hearing matters that come before the OEB and to which they are assigned by the Chief Commissioner.

These applications, which include utilities’ requests for approval to change their rates, merge with another utility or build new infrastructure, are decided through a court-like process that involves an oral, written or electronic hearing.

March 21, 2025 - The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) Board of Directors announced Damien A. Côté as its next Chief Commissioner, effective April 1, 2025. Damien joins an existing complement of highly qualified and dedicated Commissioners who collectively work to achieve adjudicative excellence.
