Shahrzad Rahbar

Shahrzad Rahbar was appointed as a part-time Commissioner effective January 1, 2025, bringing substantial experience in the areas of governance, innovation, advocacy, regulation, climate change and government relations. Dr. Rahbar most recently served as President of the Industrial Gas Users Association, where she was also a member of the Board of Directors. She was previously a Senior Vice-President with the Canadian Gas Association and, as an active contributor to the development of energy, technology and regulatory policy in Canada, Dr. Rahbar was a member of the Board of Directors for Quality Urban Energy Systems of Tomorrow and served on the Executive Committee of the International Gas Union in Switzerland. Dr. Rahbar has a PhD in mechanical engineering from the UK and holds two patents in her name.
