Executive Office Update

The Ontario Energy Board announced that, after four years in the role, Chief Operating Officer Harneet Panesar will be leaving the organization to join the global firm Hatch as a member of their advisory services team. He notified the OEB of his decision in early April.

The OEB thanks Harneet for his incredible contributions to the organization and to the energy sector over the past four years. Notably, Harneet has been a force behind evolving the OEB into a top tier regulator and advancing operational excellence, always with an eye to the future needs of Ontario’s energy sector. He drove red tape reduction and fit-for-purpose regulation while ensuring that consumer protection remains front and centre of our work.

Harneet was also a champion of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and the OEB’s annual charitable campaigns.

To ensure continuity at the OEB, Registrar Nancy Marconi will become the Acting COO.
