The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) has posted the 2018 electricity distributors’ scorecards, empowering consumers with utility performance information on a range of measures such as billing accuracy, services connected on time and the average number of power interruptions. The OEB also requires each distributor to post their scorecard on their website.
The consolidated scorecard provides a snapshot of how Ontario’s 64 electricity distributors performed last year in four areas: customer focus, operational effectiveness, public policy responsiveness and financial performance. The scorecard also shows whether the distributors met the OEB’s targets for select measures.
The utility-specific scorecards offer more in-depth information on how each utility has fared over the last five years. These are the 2018 results, but the scorecards also show historical trends for most measures. Each utility explains their results as part of their scorecard.
The OEB introduced the annual scorecards in 2013 as a way to clearly communicate utility performance. The scorecards also help consumers understand the level of service their utility delivers for the money they pay on their bills.
