Effective January 1, 2024, parties granted a temporary licence exemption by the OEB will also be exempt from certain provisions under the Ontario Energy Board Act, 1998, the Electricity Act, 1998, and the Energy Consumer Protection Act, 2010. These changes are intended to further facilitate innovation in the electricity sector.
