Details
The OEB initiated a comprehensive policy review of miscellaneous rates and charges applied by electricity distributors for specific activities or services they provide to their customers.
The first phase of the review of miscellaneous rates and charges included the review of wireline pole attachments and the methodology used for determining charges, including the appropriate treatment of any revenues that carriers may receive from third parties.
The next phase of the review included the review of energy retailer service charges.
On March 22, 2018, the OEB issued its final report on Wireline Pole Attachment Charges. On November 29, 2018, the OEB issued its final report on Energy Retailer Service Charges.

The generic pole attachment charge for wireline telecom attachments for electricity distributors will also be adjusted by inflation effective January 1, 2020.
