On June 27, 2013, the OEB created the Smart Grid Advisory Committee (the “Advisory Committee”). The Advisory Committee provided the OEB with ongoing assistance on emerging smart grid issues as the OEB facilitated the development and implementation of smart grid in Ontario. This process was intended to provide consumers, distributors, generators, transmitters and others who had an interest in the development of smart grid with an opportunity to provide advice and recommendations for consideration by the OEB.
