Details
The Natural Gas Electricity Interface Review examined the implications of additional gas-fired electricity generation on the natural gas infrastructure and service offerings. This review arose out of the Natural Gas Forum (NGF), a comprehensive sector review to further improve the efficiency and effectiveness of natural gas regulation in Ontario. This process is now complete.

Ontario Energy Board staff have completed the report of the Natural Gas Electricity Interface Review ("NGEIR").
The report’s key recommendation is that the Board initiate a generic hearing to review: (i) whether the Board should require the gas utilities to provide high deliverability service and greater nomination entitlements; (ii) whether the Board should require greater operational flexibility in the provision of distribution services; and (iii) whether the Board should forbear from regulating rates for gas storage services.
