The OEB is holding an Innovation Sandbox Challenge, a one-time funding opportunity of $1.5 million to support innovative projects in the energy sector and provide Innovation Sandbox guidance. The Challenge will tackle a specific theme that matters to the sector, and the OEB is seeking input on what that theme should be.

The OEB has released the 2021 RRR data for electricity distributors. As part of our modernization mandate and in accordance with Ontario’s Digital and Data Directive, the OEB is transitioning the Yearbook of Electricity Distributors to an Open Data format.

The OEB has released the 2021 Yearbook of Natural Gas Distributors. The Yearbook provides interested parties and the general public with financial and operational information collected from distributors.

In response to a recommendation from the OEB’s Regional Planning Process Advisory Group (RPPAG), the OEB has issued a Bulletin that clarifies that a local community may choose an alternative solution to the optimal (i.e., most cost effective) solution identified to meet a need determined through a distribution planning or regional planning process, based on local preference. It also provides guidance in relation to how cost responsibility should be addressed in such cases.

In response to a recommendation from the OEB’s Regional Planning Process Advisory Group (RPPAG), the OEB has issued an updated Bulletin that clarifies the circumstances under which regulated electricity transmitters should allocate costs associated with network facility upgrades to a generator or load customer connecting to the transmission system.

The OEB is proud to release its 2021-2022 Annual Report for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2022.

The OEB has posted Price Comparison templates for Natural Gas Contracts for Enbridge and EPCOR valid from October 1 - December 31, 2022.

The OEB has approved changes to the prices Enbridge Gas Inc. and EPCOR Natural Gas Limited Partnership will charge its customers for natural gas effective October 1, 2022.

The OEB has developed an Action Plan, which identifies 11 projects to be completed over the next 18 months, to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the adjudicative process.
